In 2006, I was invited by the Slovak Craft Council to participate in a distinguished exhibition in Belgium, which introduced Slovak craftsmanship to a broader audience. It was an honor to exhibit my work in such a prominent venue, the Belgique Francophone Gallery, which is part of the World Crafts Council (WCC) based in Mons.
During this exhibition, I proudly showcased two vases, one bowl, and a ribbed sculptural piece that I previously presented at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin. The space of the WCC building in Mons—renowned for its stunning architecture—provided an exceptional backdrop for the display of contemporary applied arts and highlighted the rich traditions and innovations within the craft sector.
The World Crafts Council brings together over 200 Belgian designers and plays a vital role in promoting contemporary applied arts, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and techniques. This exhibition was a significant opportunity to connect with fellow artists and contribute to the dialogue surrounding craft and design on an international platform.
