A JOURNEY INTO ARTEFILETICS
My artistic practice follows the philosophy of artefiletics— a creative approach that differs from traditional art therapy. While art therapy focuses on emotional healing, artefiletika centers on the experience of creation itself. It invites participants to fully immerse themselves in the tactile, meditative process of working with clay, resulting in a tangible, handmade piece of art. My role is to guide each person, offering them the technical support they need to bring their vision to life. It’s about empowerment, accomplishment, and the joy of creation.
Some visitors have been so enchanted by the experience that they traveled from other towns — even by train — and left inspired to continue creating at home. In fact, a few of them were so captivated that they bought their own kilns to pursue ceramic art. It fills me with joy to see friends, families, and small groups come together to create, laugh, and connect. Many of them return again and again. I’m also open to hosting intimate team-building sessions, where colleagues can bond through the shared experience of creation. Since ceramic art requires two firings, the process becomes a journey. The first firing, known as "bisque firing," hardens the clay at a lower temperature, preparing it for glazing. During their second visit, clients get to decorate and glaze their pieces, choosing from a variety of colors and finishes. Their excitement grows as they anticipate how their creations will transform during the second high-temperature firing. I then deliver the final, polished product into their hands or send it to them by mail.
